Pine Tar - For many years people have claimed that pine tar soap can help improve skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, dandruff and is extremely soothing to dry, itchy skin. Others have thought that it helps to provide a natural protection against mosquitos, ticks, chiggers and other insect bites (even on dogs)! Along with this protection several have said that it helps provide relief from bug bites and poison ivy.
I have added a blend of essential oils to lessen the medicinal smell of the pine tar and for their added therapeutic benefits.
Ingredients: Saponified oils of olive, coconut, palm, cocoa butter; filtered rainwater; pin tar; tea tree, lavender, patchouli and lemongrass essential oils.

Lemongrass- This is a fresh herbaceous lemon scent. Lemongrass is known for its invigorating and antiseptic properties. An excellent anti-depressant, it tones and fortifies the nervous system and can be used in bath for soothing muscular nerves and pain.

Anise- Also known as the "fisherman's soap", it has a strong licorice smell. Anise is used to cover the human scent and is said to be a fish attractant. Anise also has carminative, stomachic, stimulant and diuretic properties. In the East it is used to combat colic and rheumatism. It is a common flavoring for medicinal teas, cough mixtures and pastilles. The Anise Star is so named from the stellate form of its fruit. It is often chewed in small quantities after each meal to promote digestion and sweeten the breath. The Japanese plant the tree in their temples and on tombs; and use the pounded bark as incense. The homoeopaths prepare a tincture from the seeds.

Tea Tree - Tea Tree is a wonderful essential oil. It is use to help combat viral, bacterial and fugal infections, colds, influenza, cold sores, burns and acne. This soap also has the added benefit of French green clay which helps draw oils from the skin making this a good facial soap for acne prone skin, cleansing without drying the skin out.

Eucalyptus - This is the smell many people associate with when you have a cold. Eucalyptus is use to treat sore throats, coughs, bronchitis, sinusitis, skin infections, aches and pains.
