Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you use rainwater? Tap water has many chemical additives. Distilled water has all of the natural beneficial properties removed. We use rainwater that we have collected and filtered to keep the soaping ingredients as natural as possible.
Why do you make soap? I had begun to get patches of dry skin and I felt that it was caused by extra chemical in commercial soaps drying out my skin. I began to do a LOT of research and reading on soap making and found the many benefits of handmade soap. I was amazed at how many chemicals were found in the soap we all have purchased from the store. Some of the ingredients made me stop and think "Wow, am I really putting this on my body?" After months of reading I decided to give it a go and have been hooked since. This is a hobby that I very much enjoy. The soap I make has also helped clear up my dry skin. I wanted to be able to share all of the benefits of handmade soap with as many people as I could.
Why does soap need to cure? Soap needs to cure for a minimum of 4 weeks to allow excess water to evaporate. This provides for a harder bar of soap, richer lather, will allow bar to last longer and be more mild.
Are you soaps "all natural"? All of our soaps use natural oils. The only snythetic ingredient we add is fragrance. Not all of our soaps have fragrance added. The discription will list which soaps are made with pure essential oils or which has fragrance added.
Are your soaps allergy-free? Using natural oils in my soaps may be less irritating than commercial soaps. Some people are allergic to natural ingredients such as nuts, plants (corn, wheat, oats) and oils. All of my soaps have a COMPLETE list of ingredients, please look through this list to make sure your not allergic to an oil. Indulgent Creations is not responsible for any reaction to any ingredients. If you have a sensitivity to any ingredient listed, please choose a different product or contact me to see if we can find a product that will suit your needs.
Will your soap last longer than a commercial bar? That all depends on how often you use it and how many people are using it. To maximize the life of your soap, allow the soap to dry out completely between uses. Always keep it in a well drained soap dish.
